Colour Dye List by MiaMia

Written by gyl on Friday, December 28, 2007

Colour Dyes shouldn't be mistaken for something that allows you to alter the colour of your characters or even thier hair/armor. Dyes are usually used as an ingredient to high leveled equipments. Hunting dyes is rather tedious and would really take a lot of patience and a great deal of luck. They are usually positioned in high leveled maps and they got lesser percentage of being dropped compared to equipments. This is a primary reason why they're sold so expensive. Anyway, here's a compiled list of Hunting Grounds for your intended Colour Dye, they're arranged in alphabetical order.

Black Dye
El Canon Diabolica

Blue Dye
Lago Celeste

Green Dye
Ustiur

Mustard Dye
Ustiur Zone Dos, Ustuir Zona Tres

Orange Dye
Ustiur Zona Dos

Pink Dye

Christmas Events! Guide

Written by gyl on Friday, December 21, 2007

To activate the Quest, head to Reboldoeux City and talk to the Christmas Event NPC near the Rebo Way Point/Leonda

All you have to do is to click on the Christmas Tree when it appears in all of the cities. You gotta be fast as it will only stay on that spot for a few while. The spawn areas of the tree is random and but it usually appears on one area of the city. Look at the below figure, the area boxed in red is where the Christmas Tree usually spawns (if ever it spawns somewhere else please do drop me a message and I'll look into it). The thing with these trees is that it spawns only during the evening (I'm guessing it starts around 6pm and last until 12 am. GMT+8 btw).

The rewards are as follows:
Rebo City:
6 Christmas Trees 25 Snowman Wards
12 Christmas Trees 3 Rudolph Horns
18 Christmas Trees 3 Santa Hats
18 Christmas Trees + 100 “X” Letter 1 Santa Costume

You can also submit the following in Coimbra Christmas Even Npc:
20 Letter "X" + 15 Mystery Powder = 1 Santa Costume

Collect as many Christmas Trees as you can and exchange them for cool Christmas-Themed costumes. The hats are purely for aesthetic purposes and it adds nothing. The Snowman Ward is like Jack's Tower that gives additional Attack Speed. The Santa Costume is just a normal costume. Similar to the Holloween Event, you can hunt 18 Trees and still get the rewards for finding 6 and 12 of them. You only get to choose 1 Santa Costume for any of your stock characters btw.

The "X" Letter Item can only be found via the Red Socks Item dropped by the Snowman creature (Jack Frost's cousin I think XD). You can easily farm for these Items since Snowmen are easy to kill. The rate of getting "X" from Red Socks is really low so good luck in farming these creatures. You can also get New Year Fire cracker, Snow Spray, Enhancement Chips, Gems and other items with the Red Socks. You can get more Santa Costumes via Farming for "X" and buying Mystic Powder in the Premium Item Shop and talking to the Coimbra Event NPC.

To those who are rather lazy, here's an outline of what's up:
- Open the Christmas Tree Quest by talking to the Event NPC in Rebo City
- Find 18 Christmas Tree
- Exchange for Rewards (You can get the other rewards as well, like the Holloween Quest)
- Find 100 "X" Letters and choose a Santa Outfit for any of your stock chars in Rebo City
- Coimbra Event NPC allows you to craft more Santa Outfit for your stocks by exchanging the required items.

Merry Christmas Everyone ^_^

Countdown to v2.4

Written by gyl on Wednesday, December 19, 2007

With less than 24 hours to go before Granado Espada is open again, let's take a look at the new things we can expect. Also, do remember that all new features won't be released just yet. They announced that they'll be releasing features after features probably month after month. There's a tentative schedule from Ms. Hrin's blog as I'll be quoting her on this one.

RNPCs Angie and Karjalainen will be out tomorrow as well. Other RNPCs are planned to be released monthly. Lil' Viki and Feng Ling (Soso) is scheduled to be released next month, Jan 2008 while Edward Jameson & Kurt will probably be out in Feb 2008 and lastly, Gavin Jameson in March 2008. This is the tentative schedule and subject to change since this industry is so dynamic and changes might happen at anytime so please don't swear by my schedule.
- Ms. Hrin

Like what she said, don't get your hopes up too much. But what I think is sure are the new Premium Cash Shop Items that will be sold after GE goes live again. Here's a quick link to the new premium items. The best thing to look out for is perhaps the Item Enhancement Booster than can get you to +6 with no risk.

So far it will only be the Bahia Island and Island of Fire maps will be open for tomorrow. The other new maps will be released a few months later.

Aside from the new way of reporting bots there's a super interesting new features that will blow away those who enjoy doing boss raids and PvPs. Granado Espada's v2.4 patch calls it the Super Fight. It is much like an everything goes map where you can attack almost everyone.

Interacting with other players is a lot better now. You can now simply right click the name of the broader, your squad/faction mate and be able to whisper, view their profile, block or invite them to squad. This is rather convenient specially for people who wants to form a squad within the same faction.

V2.4 is really against botters. Not only do they added the Report-Botters-In-game-Function, they also added requirement for logging out. Now you have to wait for 5 seconds before you can log out or exit the program with out moving or doing anything. This will be a headache to the botters in PK servers.

There's also some changes on some character classes. There's also a possiblity that Catherine and Jack's skill can be cancelled midway. Here's a direct quotation, again, from Ms. Hrin's Blog.

Changes to the Wizard class
a. “Reflection” has been changed to “Energy Shield”
b. While using energy shield, the shield will protect the user from damage by consuming SP instead of HP
c. Decrease Levitation stance attack range
d. Increase cool down time for “Photon Splash” and “Hole of Darkness”
e. Uses one Magical Orb for “Photon Splash” and two Magical Orb for “Hole of Darkness”
f. Reduces Mental RES when using Magical Piercing
g. Does not decrease movement speed and DEF when using Invisible Stalker skill

Change to Elementalist class
a. “Activate Mana” has been changed to “Elemental Blessing”
b. After casting “Elemental Blessing”, you will be allowed to defend against any attack once. After blocking the attack, “Elemental Blessing” will be gone
c. Increases damage of “Meteor Strike”, “Firewall”, “Blazing Pillar” and “Volcanic Eruption”

You can now craft HQ Gems and level 100 Equipments. Keep in mind that a level 100 Armors (like the ones from Katovic which you have to do a long quests) gives you 25 DR. Level 100 Elite Armor gives around 30 DR. Level 100 Equips are good alternatives for Elite Level 84 Armors and if you're still hunting or having a hard time looking for an Elite level 92.

Or if you're more of the gambler type, you can try your luck on Bellem Boxes! Yes! Potions' Drop rate have been decreased and Boss Spinelles, Gems, and even Equipments' drop rates are increased.

Upcoming Premium Items (December 20)

Written by gyl on Saturday, December 15, 2007

Consumables
New random stuff from Karja's Vanity Box will sure get people wanting to buy this item. You can get any random costume from it, I'm not really into random boxes but I see this as something that you can sell for vis. The promotion scroll is another giveaway. Will we be getting Expert levels when it hits December 20? Lol. More reasons to grind, more reasons to stay up late at night. >_<

Costume
December 20's batch of new costumes got various outfits for rNPCs like Lisa (gotta check her's out!), Claude, Alejandro, and Catherine. Also, a very hot looking female fighter costume is next up. Brace yourself for this new fashion revolution! (Finally Claude gets a much needed outfit makeover).

Package
Ancient Territory Pass thrown in the package is perhaps the only reason why you should consider getting it. I'm not yet sure what the Ancient Territory Pass is but maybe it is some sort of a much better version of the Forgotten Pass.

Temporary
A number of new Temporary Items availabe this December 1 and they are all back costumes. I'm not really fond of temporary stuff. I'd rather use the 1,100 GPoints on a Barrack Slot of Enhancement Booster. 7 days isn't much for me, though some are really promising as they give much needed bonuses like blocks, evasion and MAX HP. The Ancient Territory Pass here seem to be the only thing that I see myself spending on.

Misc
Expect to see a lot of +7 or even +8 items after it hits December 20. With the arival of the Intensifying Tranquilizer, It assures you that you get your most treasured equipment from +4 to +7 safely! I'm sure a great number of people will love this new addition to the Premium Item Shop.

In Focus: First-Aid stance

Written by gyl on Wednesday, December 12, 2007

First-Aid
Assistance
Healing stance which allows user to heal HP and cure abnormal conditions.

Required Weapon:
None

Characters that can use this stance:
Emilia the Sage, Emilia Gianino, Stock Scout

Character level requirement:
n/a

Granadosource's take:
First-Aid is a pretty basic assistance stance. It doesn't need any weapon and it does auto-heal when in hold or patrol mode. The skills in the stance are pretty much straightforward and doesn't need much of an overview. Cure-All is very useful as some people tend to rely on normal healing, Cure-All can almost heal twice as much as the normal heal can. Mass Cure is very useful in high spawn areas where you'd want to heal a number of characters at the same time. Mass Cure is almost spammable allowing you better microing on other stuff.

In Focus: Fortitudo stance

Written by gyl on Tuesday, December 11, 2007

Fortitudo
Assistance
A stance which allows the use of Buffs on alies.

Required Weapon:
None

Characters that can use this stance:
Soho, Stock Scout

Character level requirement:
18

Granadosource's take:
Fortitudo is your conventional support stance. It allows you to auto-heal when in the stance and opnes loads of useful buffs like extra damage, damage speed and movement boost, def boost and regeneration boost. It isn't rocket science when it comes to using Fortitudo. All skills are useful and you don't have to worry since you can max all skills.

Intensify is a must have and one extra intensify ring is already very helpful. At higher levels, where every little AR a counts, an extra +1 AR from Intensify is already a big boost. Meditation greatly improves the HP and SP regeneration of the buffed characters. This is most useful on Fighters and Range types as it allows them to get back lost SP right away during Boss Battles, PvP or in Colony Wars. This will allow them to spam skills without worrying on spamming SP pots. The use of Fortify and Acceleration is the only thing that users should take note of. Since they give different type of buffs it's almost always commonsensical on which to use on what situation. In the early levels of the game, skill use tend to lean towards using Acceleration as Def buff doesn't really make much of a difference compared to the latter parts of the game. Fortify at level 11 gives +1 DR rating which allows you to survive longer in high level areas. Sometimes, you'd prefer Acceleration over Fortify when you're with great competition on Raids. Think of Diablo and how fast he dies. lol >_<

Step Aside Cathy! How to get Viki!

Written by gyl on Monday, December 10, 2007

Step aside Catherine of the Torsche Manor and give way to the hottest kid on the block - Viki! He's a force to be reckoned with yet he's still a kid. Think of this small guy as a Scout and Catherine the Summoneer Fusion. Better get yourself ready with this kid's long and tiring quest and already prepare one barrack slot for him and his giant summons as he'll be sure to make you regret if you don't get him.

You can start doing his quest only on a Wednesday (Wow, one whole day before the maintenance!).

- Go to Viki's House (El Tejado Verde, G3) and talk to Dr. Torsche and Viki. Then you have to talk to a Girl npc in Reboldoeux (F7) and pick both options and she'll tell you to go look and talk to Diego (Revoldeoux) and Lisa (Coimbra). Back at Diego, he'll ask you to hunt for the following for the ROBO R 90 item:
- 20 Wild boar's Molar Tooth from Sabreboars in Cathari Falls
- 20 Jezebelnium Plywood from Crate Octopus in Jezebel Glen
- 5 Roboten Jewel from Phobitan Warrior in the Tetra Grand Corridor

- Bring the follong back to Diego and he'll construct the ROBO R 90 robot for you. Back at Lisa (she's asking for the 100% Cocoa Sonador, she'll ask you to bring 300 Cabosse (from any Phobitan monsters - Tetra, Rio Albi, etc..) to the Cabosse Merchant NPC just below Lisa and she'll mold it 50 Cocoa Mass and 50 Cocoa Butter for yor 300 Cabosse. Bring both batch of items back to Lisa and she'll reward you vis and Cocoa Sonador for it.

- Bring the Cocoa and the Robot back to Viki and you'll start a mission(you'll getanXP card for both items btw). You'll be warped again to El Tejado map and you gotta talk to Viki. He'll give you an Old Coin. All you have to do in the mission is to defeat monsters on your way back to Viki's Hut, the Sorceress (the one you fought during Grace Bernelli's quest) and her Treasure Golem. After the battle talk to the Ararat and you'll get the Heart of Steel item. Talk to viki again and he'll give you a level 64 Enchantment Chip. Talk to Ulrik and choose the 2nd option.

He'll ask you to hunt the following:
- 100 Transynix Jewel Hornets in Reboldoeux Stone Pit
- 100 Keonig Jewel Larval Dragonwasp in Ferrucio Junction
- 100 Sterten Chrome Little Comodo in Cathari Fall

After, return to Ulrik for yet another batch of things to hunt:
- 100 Molthea Block from Striped Spider of Lightning in El Tejado Verde
- 100 Fire Cub from Little Plaque Rogue in Tetra Hill
- 100 Garft Block from Corlien Slasher in El Lago de Tres Hermanas

- Ulrik will later ask for 1 Mamund and 1 Strong Heart, return to Dr Torsche in his mansion and talk to him. He'll ask for 100 Otite Pieces (Regular Items) and 20 pieces of the following:
- Strange Spring
- Strange Tube
- Strange Gear
- Strange Hinge
- Strange Clock
Once you completed everything, bring it back to Dr. Torsche and receive 1 Strong Heart and 1 Summon. For the Mamund, go to Pradera de Ceniza and hunt for Violent Gehcos for it. Bring both items to Ulrik and then talk to Viki and you'll be transported to yet another mission. Just fight your way through it. After the completing the quest, talk to Viki again and he'll ask you to take good care of Viki.

Congratulations! You now acquire a Viki Card!
