On < lv 100 Super Fight

Written by gyl on Saturday, January 19, 2008

Have you ever tried the < Lv100 Super Fights? There's actually one outside Cite de Reboldoeux and it only allows characters that are levels 99 and below (Vets and level 100 characters is isn't allowed inside. The non-vet level Super Fight is held in Queen's Gard en outside Cite de Reboldoeux. It is open every 1830 and 2100 GMT+8. There's also a notice or an announcement whenever it is about to start. The Portal Gate is only open for around 5 minutes so better get there early.

Inside the Non-Vet Super Fight there are level 7x mobs in the form of Reboldoeux Soldiers, Coimbra Troopers, and Auch Infantries. All you have to do inside is to wait for the boss to arrive and kill it to get a shot in getting 64 and above elite equipments! Bosses ranges from Dekaravia to a random Veteran rNPC. Check out what got us when we we're expecting the Dekaravia boss.

Anyway, It is suggested to go inside in full squad to be sure that your success. The best way is to camp in one spot of the Map (inside the Super Fight) and just wait for the announcement that a boss has spawned. You'll have enough time early on to eliminate other teams doing the missions as well. It is important to take them out first so you can have a sure shot of that Boss Drop. That'll be all for now. Go and try out the low level Super Fight ^_^

Training Areas Listings v2.4

Written by gyl on Monday, January 07, 2008

This is an incomplete list of training area maps in the world of Granado Espada. Version 2.4 has several changes in the game making certain AFK-able maps hardly AFK-able anymore because of new bosses. Aside from mini-bosses spawning in areas that are afk-able before, there are now elite monsters appearing and randomly generating its minions with it. Though there are coordinates in the map that doesn't spawn these elite monsters, it is safe to go and try out various parts of the map to still be able to AFK train in pre-2.4 version of the game.

Colour Dye List by MiaMia

Written by gyl on Friday, December 28, 2007

Colour Dyes shouldn't be mistaken for something that allows you to alter the colour of your characters or even thier hair/armor. Dyes are usually used as an ingredient to high leveled equipments. Hunting dyes is rather tedious and would really take a lot of patience and a great deal of luck. They are usually positioned in high leveled maps and they got lesser percentage of being dropped compared to equipments. This is a primary reason why they're sold so expensive. Anyway, here's a compiled list of Hunting Grounds for your intended Colour Dye, they're arranged in alphabetical order.

Of Character Arrangement in your Barracks

Written by gyl on Tuesday, December 04, 2007

Ever wondered how is the characters in your Barracks arranged?

It is quite interesting to see various characters doing unique animations when you create them in your barracks. It's quite fun to create and set your barracks up (like setting Claude and Alejandro to be situated in the chess table). The thing is with your barracks is that when you create a character you can no longer rearrange him. There's also an order to where they go so you can create, lets say an Auch Infantry to be sitting on the chess chair not unless you've got enough characters and the next one is automatically situated there. Anyway, to get a better understand of the matter, I'll be posting screenshots below and what number should a certain character be created to take an area in your barrack.

(Areas to the left of the Barracks)

(Areas to the left of the Barracks)

The characters created in the following order will take the designated position:
1st = Center of the room, standing on the left side of the stair case
2nd = Center of the room, standing on the right side of the stair case
3rd = Center of the room, sitting on the stairs
4th = Left side of the room , sitting on the couch
5th = Left side of the room, leaning on the right side of the couch
6th = Left side of the room, leaning on the left side of the couch
7th = Right side of the room, sitting on the left side of the chess table
8th = Right side of the room, sitting on the right side of the chess table
9th = Right side of the room, standing near the chair to the left of the 7th character

Keep in mind that different characters sometimes have different poses when they're situated anywhere in your barracks. With that said, have fun and go "decorate" your barracks.

EXP Chart

Written by gyl on Sunday, October 07, 2007

To maximize your EXP Gain when training, below is an EXP chart that you can refer to. When you attack certain monsters, you get to notice the color of their names. This indicates a certain EXP bonus. A basic rule is to always get to Yellow-named monsters to get that maximum exp gain (150%!). Combine that with 100% Exp Boost and a Rion Hollow Dungeon-like Spawn Rate and you'd see that exp bar tick every minute!

On Squads and XP

Written by gyl on Thursday, October 04, 2007

There been a lot of questions if being in a squad is faster in terms of earning experience or not. I'm a strong believer that it is so but some tend to go solo thinking that it slows the development of their characters down.

As far as I know, Experience can be gained through killing monsters or consuming EXP Cards. The first one is the most common one as the latter requires you more time before you can even gain as much as killing the amount of monsters intended for it. When in a squad, you earn a fixed amount of the normal experience as long as that squad member is within 20M range (or as long as you can see them when you scroll/zoom out the farthest).

Earning experience in a squad follows the chart below. To explain further, let's say you are in a squad with a total of 8 family members, based on the chart below, you get 30% of the experience you can get as if you kill the monster yourself. The total XP gain of 240% simply explains the total EXP you get from killing that certain monster (it's simply 30% exp distributed to each of the 8 families so when you multiply it, it produces 240%!).

Squad-ing is best when you're in a high spawn area or if you can barely handle a map your level. Training in squad allows you to develop your characters faster. The more monsters a family can kill at a certain span of time the faster the exp gain will be. As for the example of the 8 families, if they can take over a high spawn spot they can cover for the 70% loss of exp by killing a certain number of monsters at the same time thus defeating the thought that being in a squad is a slow way to train your characters!

An explanation on Weapon and Armor Types

Written by gyl on Saturday, September 22, 2007

Ever wondered what those armor types are for? Granado Espada has a so called Weapon and Armor Affinities much like a Pokemon Games Elemental/Monster Types where a certain type of attack deals more damage to a weaker element. In GE, Weapons and Armor type varies depending on your target and to explain further here's what the monster information is like when you check them (alt+right click on the monster).

Armor Types
So far there are three types of Armors present in Granado Espad. They are Soft/Misc, Medium and Heavy/Hard. For players, Armor Type is determined by the armor they wear. Soft Armors are Coats and Robes, Leather Armors are Medium Armor and Metal Armors are the Hard or Heavy Armor.

Weapon Types
Weapons Types falls under the category of Small/Light, Medium/Normal and Big/Heavy. Small/Light Weapons are Bayonets, Daggers, Gaiters, Javelin, Knuckles, Main Gauches, Sabers, and Shotguns. They are strong against soft armors but weak against medium and hard armor. Medium/Normal Weapons are Pistols, Rifles, Rapiers, and Swords. They do not have any penalties on other types of armors but they're good against Medium Armor types. Heavy/Big Weapons are Cannons, Great Swords, Maces and Polearms and obviously they are good against Hard Armors with damage penalties on Soft and Medium Armor Types.

So the next time you right click and see the monster info, be sure to change weapons to maximize the damage potential of your characters. This perhaps a good reason why to train other stances. ^_^

Cheers!

How to Optimize Your G-Points for Earning More Experience

Written by gyl on Friday, September 21, 2007

Let's face it! Not everyone is willing to spend too much money on Online Games. This is perhaps the primary reason why most Online Games are slowly converting to a F2P (Free-to-Play) format and rely on Cash Shop Items for profit. In my opinion, Cash Shops are a more effective way to gain profit than paying for game time. Anyway, this post is intended to the people who'd want to enjoy the game and at the same time make the most off their Game Time and G-Points.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people out there are already done strategizing and planning out how they would spend their money when the free game time is consumed. I do not like spending too much real life money for Virtual Items or Online games and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people like me out there. I do enjoy playing Granado Espada and to continue having fun with the game I need to spend wisely.

This article is geared to talk about How to Optimize Your G-Points for Earning More Experience. We all want that competitive edge Granado Espada's Cash Shop Items gives you. Lucky for us, Game time and Cash Shop Money (G-Points) can be purchased together. This article will tell you various ways to maximize your spending of G-Points at the expense of not sacrificing your competitive edge.

Here's a chart of the Game Value Card rates:

A 30 Days worth of Unlimited Play with G-Points gives you 5000 G-Points. Well others obviously gives you more but practically, you'd want to be purchasing 30 days GVC (Since the 90 and 180 days seem to be rarely available). 5000 G-Points is so little but don't worry this article is written so you can maximize EXP gain with it.

Forgotten Territory Pass

G points: 4,400
Duration: 1 day
Quantity: 3pcs
Allows access to the Forgotten Territory, a premium dungeon. (Players will be teleported out of the dungeon when their time expires.)

With the Forgotten Territory Pass, you can earn Combat Experience twice or thrice as much as people who're normally training outside this Premium Dungeon. These Premium Dungeons lasts for only 24 hours after you use it and runs even if you're logged off. The reason why you can earn twice or thrice as much as others (without Combat Manual) is that the spawn rate here is Rion Hollow-like or Sacred Dungeon-like so you probably get the picture already. A good thing about the monsters inside the Forgotten Territory is that they're similar to their original counterpart so you're better be prepared before entering. Another noticeable thing inside is that it has better drop rate.

It is quite possible to AFK inside and so you can maximize the high spawn rate even more. The only disadvantage of it is that it is very limited (24 hours per Pass) so you better clear your schedule before using it. Also, prepare your equips before heading in, remember that the less time you spend going in and out of the Premium Dungeon the more EXP and Item you can gain.

You can check out the forums or click on this link for more info.

Combat Manual - Average

G points: 4,400
Duration: 30 days
Quantity: 1pc
Increases EXP rate by 80%

Yes! That's right Combat Manual - Average! Why not get the Expert Manual instead? The reason is that it cost you 2200 G-Points more for the extra 20% EXP for the next 30 days which you can really spend on something else like a visit inside a Premium Dungeon.

Average and Expert Manuals doesn't have quick noticeable difference. Don't get me wrong, 20% EXP more is good but with such a limited G-Points from monthly GVCs you'd be better of with an 80% EXP Rate than nothing. Just be sure to keep on moving forward and changing training areas whenever you can. This pushes your characters to still be competitive even against those with 100% EXP boost.

The most important thing to remember is that you should always try to move up a notch on where you are leveling. There are still others who can do without EXP boost and still manage to compete well against those with 100% EXP boost. Also, keep in mind the ratio between training and going back to town to restock. The less you go back to town the more EXP and chance to find a good drop increases. If you have enough to spare you can CHIONG (a Singaporean word I learned lol) by using Forgotten Territory Pass with Average or Expert Combat Manual. I saw people training from 72 to 92 in 3 to 5 days using these cash shop items as combo!

How to Earn More Vis in GE: 6 Techniques to Help you Start Earning

Written by gyl on Sunday, September 16, 2007

Granado Espada uses Vis as its in-game currency. Vis is just as essential as getting to higher levels with your characters. With more Vis in GE you can afford that expensive Equipment or that cool topless (oiled body) costume for scouts.

Earning Vis is easy. There's no secret and you just need to know how to get optimize time and play with the Market. With the right attitude towards earning more Vis and the discipline to go with it, you'll be making so much Vis enough for you to spend your G-Points on other stuffs instead.

Earning more Vis is not a difficult process at all and this post will provide 6 useful methods you can use to generate substantial income to the point that you won't be rely on G-Points too much. These seven methods are strategies that is very beneficial to those starting up or even in their mid-levels.

You can think of them as guidelines which point out the different options you have, if you're starting to find yourself losing too much or lacking vis.

1. The L.E.Y.S. Method or The Loot Everything You See Method

This is perhaps the most basic way to earning vis. Loots or Monster Drops varies depending on the level of the monster killed and the Drop Rate of the item. Remember, as you progress and move to higher level maps, the amount of loot increases (and at the same time, the chance lowers a little). Loots easily translates to vis and you should not miss on picking up one. Loots can include equipments which can sell for a better price either in Market Manager or to NPCs. You can check whether you get a special loot (like Mega Ionium, Area Vouchers etc...) by comparing what the Item NPCs sells. If they happen to be selling Tough Cotton Yarn and you happen to not be needing it at the moment, feel free to sell it right away. As for other loots such as Elemental Orbs, Toolset Boxes etc... if you're not going to use them or you're not planning on using characters that needs them, might as well go sell them right away.

2. Ferrucio Forge and Golden Well

An easier way to convert Loots to a more tradable items is through dumping them in Forges or Wells. Ferrucio Forges (can be found in Channel 1 of Cathari Fall, Jezebel Glen, and El Lago de Tres Hermanas) and Golden Well (Channel1 outside the City of Auch) can only be used once every hour and so you better take advantage of it by accumulating heaps of what it needs and use everything in the forge. Items from Ferrucio Forges can be used to sell for more Vis in Market Manager as there are demands for them.

After some time, the Golden Well's effectiveness in terms of earning more money has decreased. I believe so, but still I find a bit more potential in it. The Golden Well allows you to dump Gold Pieces in it and in turn it can produce Gold Bars(which sells for a lot in NPCs) or Bellem Boxes. Bellem Boxes generates a random item when used and it's more like a gamble when hoping to come up with a good drop. The most you could get from Bellem Boxes nowadays (v.2) are Spinelles which some could sell for a lot (if you're lucky to get that certain Spinelle).

3. Hunting What's Hot

It is fun studying what's on Market Manager. Most of the time there are overpriced items being sold there but the fun here is you can determine what the market needs. The Market always have a demand (which is very profitable) and the supply would always be scarce. Though this is a good way to earn vis, it is long and tedious and sometimes very frustrating. Another thing you need to know is where to hunt that certain item. Let's take Catherine's Pelvis for example. Let's say the market has a high demand for it and you can easily train in Torsche's Grand Library to hunt for it then by all means go and do so. The only downside is that there is no sure chance of you getting a Catherine's Pelvis at a certain hourly rate (you can even go Cath's Pelvis-less for a day or so). The risk of wasting your precious time is high but the pay out should still be good. Training in areas with a Boss/Mini-Boss and hunting them has a better chance of getting a good drop.

4. Of Enhancing and Enchantment, Of the used and the new

One of the reasons why some Equipments in the Market Manager looks overpriced is because of the stat in the weapon and/or it is Over-Enhanced (it has more than +4 Enhancement). This is a very risky way to earn more vis but the amount of profit is exponential and very beneficial to your own characters as well. Most of the time, you'll be focusing on making your characters stronger by equipping them with the best possible equipments. Over-enhanced weapons sells as much as the one with normal enhancement but with better Stat/Enchantment and vise-versa. If you can get both, you'd be racking up more vis for the gamble you took. There are some tricks to Enhancing like getting a bunch of +4 then enhancing everything to +5 and when one broke replace the next one with the equipment you wish to get to +5 and it is said to have better chance to not be broken. Of course there is all but a theory so dun bet on it.

Enchanting really has no trick to it but there's a ritual some people do to get them a good stat. What some of these people would do is to enchant the item and when they seem to get three bad stat in a row they stop and wait for an hour and re-enchant again. I suggest you do the over enhancing if you have enough vis to spare then Enchant afterwards. Another tip is to focus on your character's equipments first and don't venture to other equipments (just because you see a good market) because it will be a waste if you can't get a good buyer right away. In this way you get to hit two birds with one over enhanced equipment with good stat XD.

5. Farm Vis in High Spawn Areas

This is a mostly overlooked technique. If you have characters who can easily take care of high spawn areas like Rion Hollow, Secret Dungeon, Skul Dungeon etc... I suggest you go farm there instead. A day farming in Rion Hollow can rack you 3M+ vis only from crappy equips and normal loot pickups. They may sell for little but with their numbers they are big. The Premium Item that allows you to go to the Forgotten Territory is high spawn and has better drop rate (based from observation) at the same time. The longer you stay in your farming area the more vis you're earning.

6. Depreciation and beyond

If you check the Market Manager most of the time the most equipments sold is at around 4pm to 10pm (+8 GMT) maybe because a lot of people are active or have left the items in Market Manager earlier. Check the Market and compare prices between 48- 68 equips and 72-92 equips. Most of the time the equipments that is sold right away are the cheaper one with reasonable stats. In my server (Pachelbel), a decent level 48-68 equip can sell for 200-400k right away compared to the market of 72-92 that has an average selling prices of 500k-1M which takes sometime before it is sold. Depending on how mature your server is and your main team's current level go take on the maps that you can handle pretty well. Remember, the more time you spend in the training field the more chance you're earning your vis. Also, in accordance to point #5, it is better to earn as much Vis as you can even to the extent of training in areas where the monsters are levels way lower than you. As time flies, your server matures and a lot of people goes past that certain level and so the prices of equips will depreciate. With the ample earning you have, you'll have more purchasing power.

The Heal Calculation Theory

Written by gyl on Monday, September 03, 2007

Everyone is so intrigued with what certain stat does and to what extent does it affect your character's battle performance. The arrival of Premium Items allows everyone a sneak peak or at least to create theories on what certain stat does. Veterans who receives an extra 1-point of stat to be dumped on any attribute allows those people to experiment and come up with what certain stat does. Thus, a need to settle how to increase the healing power of those with the skill arouse.

Guiltycross from the GE forums came up with the following on how to calculate heals:

Heal = Heal Level * (DEX + INT) / 12

To further explain, a non-veteran scout that has a total of 7 DEX and 5 INT with level 10 Heal can replenish 1124 HP. When you do the computation Heal is equal to 1124 times the total of DEX and INT which is 12 divided by 12. Obviously, the twelve is canceled out leaving the total value of 1124.

Let's take Emilia as an example. She has 5 DEX and6 INT. She should be healing more since she has 1 INT more than the stock scout.
Using the equation, it should come out to be 1012 HP (rounded to the nearest ones). After testing the theory out, plain Emilia can only heal 1046 HP at Heal level 10. (With 34 HP difference)

On one hand, there's Emilia the Sage which has 5 DEX and 8 INT. Theoretically speaking she should be healing 1236 HP, after testing her out she can heal 1242 HP at Heal level 10. There's a 6 HP difference with the equation and the actual test. Tested on an Emilia the Sage with Heal level 9, her heal shows similar effect healing
1124 HP as well.

Lastly, a Vet Scout who allocated 1 on Dex should be healing somewhere around Emilia the Sage's actual heal numbers or even near the theoretical heal. As a result, he was able to heal 1202 HP which is a -34 HP difference. This goes to show that it is most probable that INT has more weight in calculating the total heal than the DEX stat. Another theory is that every character has different base heal or something.

I'm currently training my Soho to try out the calculation. He has 6 DEX and 3 INT which should allow him to only heal 843 HP. I'll update another post on this as soon as I get my Soho ready.

If you want to contribute or have any comments feel free to drop a line and discuss this with me. ^_^

Downloading Granado Espada

Written by gyl on Sunday, September 02, 2007

The emerging population of gamers in Granado Espada is exponentially rising and you too should quickly take part of this amazing experience. This highly engaging and very addictive game requires more than sheer grinding and rush leveling to conquer. It put emphasis on camaraderie and establishing good reputation between families.

The game is released in various regions. I'll be adding the links of the different versions where you can download the game. As of Sept. 1, 2007, almost all GE versions are F2P (Free to Play) with Cash Shop Items (sgGE is the only one that is still p2p, we can hope for it to change ^_^).

Cash Shop Item Purchase Guide

Written by gyl on Saturday, September 01, 2007

After the server maintenance last August 30, 2007, the clock starts ticking (lol.. there's an indicator in your barracks), cash shop items are starting to get advertised and broadcasted using microphones. Various characters sporting different costumes stands out from each other as they run around the busy world of Granado Espada. This section focuses on Cash Shop Item Purchasing.

The Premium Item Trader NPC is available in all towns. They're most of the time situated near the way-point or Leonardo Expresso. You can find a list of Cash Shop Items here. Premium Items or Cash Shop Items are in-game items that can only be found from the Premium Item Trader NPC. These are specialized items that allows you free passes to a secret dungeon to bear costumes to a progressive health filler to 100% bonus experience.

You'll be needing G-Points to spend for these items. Here is a link to a G-point topping up guide. Just be sure to abide by the following Terms and Conditions.

Topping up for G-points is easy and fast. This should give you a major advantage over other players so be sure to plan how will you purchase Premium Items.

Buying premium items in game is similar to buying items from other NPCs.

A tip to other players who's planning how to spend your limited G-Points is to know what are tradables and which are not. Some valuable Premium Item like a Barrack Slot which costs 1,100 G-points is tradable so instead of using G-Points to purchase it you might as well look for someone willing to sell them for vis.

Character Stats Explanation

Written by gyl on Saturday, September 01, 2007

Here's a quick explanation of what a certain stat of a character does. IAH Games is yet to reveal what each stat exactly do. The information on the stat is mostly taken from characters who have reached veteran status and is experimenting with various stat point with Cash Shop Items.

STR
Strenght affects the attack power of melee weapons. Just like in most MMORPG, this stat is included in damage calculation of melee weapons. In Granado Espada, strenght also translates to the ability of skills to be able to deal a knockdown or a knock-back blow. It is said to have an effect on the attack speed of heavy weapons (these are Great Swords, Polearms, and Maces).

AGI
Agility affects the characters attack speed and physical evasion rate. The more points on AGI a character have the faster he/she will be able to attack. AGI also doesn't seem to have any use for Catherine the Summoneer RNPC and Jack or Diego's constructions (Rotating Blade, Turrets etc..).

CON or HP
Constitution or Health points translates as a character's total hit points. The more points on CON/HP you have the more health your character will have. Every point on CON/HP can cancel the effectiveness of knockdown from skill.

DEX
Dexterity affects the damage output of range weapons. Dexterous characters has better accuracy, block rate and critical rating. Light weapons (they are Daggers, Mains Gauches, Knuckles, Gaiters, Javelins to name a few)
seem to benefit from the DEX stat as well giving them better attack speed.

INT
Intelligence greatly affects magic users. The INT stat affects the destructive power of magic attacks. This does not increase the total SP (spell points) of your character, leveling them does. Intelligence also raises the characters resistance to elemental attacks.

CHA
Charisma affects the strenght of summoned monsters.

This info on each stat were taken from http://ges.wikiwiki.jp/
