IAHGames is pleased to announce that Granado Espada would become a “Free-to-play” online game service. This is in line with Granado Espada’s global direction.

The actual day of F2P will be announced shortly due to technical implications and testing.

Loyalty Reward Package Giveaway
In a move to reward GE gamers for their support of IAHGames’ first online game, a special “Loyalty Reward Package” will be given away for free.

If you have topped-up at least one GVC from 30th August 2007 to F2P Day or have been previously been rewarded with the 90 days free game play time, you will be eligible to receive the “Loyalty Reward Package” containing:

* 5 x Enhancement Tranquilizers
* 5 x Enhancement Boosters
* 5 x Soul Crystal
* 5 x Hrin’s potion
* 1 x Combat Manual Expert (30 days)
* 1 x Tactics Manual (15 days)

The giveaway will be put in effect on F2P Day during the scheduled maintenance.

Game Time Conversion Program
All gamers who have remaining game time in their account will have the game value converted to G-points.

* IAHGames will convert 1 day of game time to 30 G-points.
* A round-up policy will be applied, i.e. If you have 10.3 days left, we will round it up to 11 days.
* The conversion will be performed on the F2P day during the scheduled maintenance.

Words on Premium Shop RNPCs

I personally can't wait for my Adelina the Pirate, Soho the Wind, Idge the Battlesmith and Panfilo the Battlecook to arrive in sgGE's Premium Shop but all my hopes died down after reading about these Premium Shop RNPCs (well hopefully not all of them) will not be gracing our barracks.

I don't know if you can say that it is official but in a post made by Regional Community Manager Hrin in the sgGE Forums. She said that "premium shop RNPCs like Pirate Adelina , Soho the Wind etc, IMC will not allow us to release them as they are too IMBA". It totally broke my heart. Though we can still hope as "there might be variations of them under a different name with more balanced stats" might come out.

Now, I'm really tempted to buy a Pirate Costume for my Adelina. I think the only think that made them imbalance is the stances maybe they should tweak it a bit and still release an Adelina the Pirate Premium Shop RNPC! .......or atleast let me get my hands on a Panfilo the Battlecook RNPC!

Forgotten Territory Passes For All!

Dear Granado Espada Adventurers,

Due to the recent server disruptions, we will be giving out 3 Forgotten Territory Passes to all Granado Espada gamers who log in between 25 October 2007, Thursday (after server maintenance) – 29 October 2007, Monday, 1000hrs (GMT +8) as a form of goodwill. Please collect your Forgotten Territory Passes from Leonardo Expreso. After you have collected your passes, you will be able to find them in your Charged Inventory (CTRL + F).

In the Forgotten Territory, you’ll find higher rates of monster spawning and item drops, meaning more bad guys to slay and more goodies for you to collect!

Hrin’s Updates: Bot Court? Yay Or Nay

Hi guys!

1. Bot Busting (B Square) Squad Feedback

Our bot busting squad has been working 24/7 for the past 2 weeks to keep ‘third parties’ from coming between our relationship. We would like to know whether this measure has been effective in eradicating most of the bots. After all, such resources (especially a 24/7 one) are a huge money drain and upper management needs to know if these resources are justifiable. Thus, we would like to conduct a poll to find out about the service level and effectiveness of the B Square Squad.

3. De-Leveling Issues

The community has been asking us for a stand on de-leveling issues. The [GM] team deals with this on a case-to-case basis. For example, if a player has just leveled up and was PK-ed by someone else just once, he would be ‘de-leveled’. This type of scenario is part of the game-play on a PK server. However, the other type of scenario whereby the infamous ‘Ress-PK Loop’ combination is repeatedly deployed – is considered as harassment and the culprit will be dealt with accordingly.

4. Opinions On Bot Court: Justice For All!

We’re facing a bit of a dilemma here. We do have a few appeal cases on hand and although the entire team has watched the video replays and coming to a unanimous decision about rejecting the appeal, a few gamers persist in an outcry of innocence on the forums. Thus, we’re toying with the idea of presenting these replays to the community and inviting the community to play the roles of judge, jury, defense attorney, prosecutor and whatnots. Typical scenarios include:

“OBJECTION!

He has an alibi! His faction mate, MisterAlibi Family was speaking to him at the time he was forcibly disconnected from the server and proclaimed as botting!”

“HOLD IT!

The records show that the time of botting was at 1313hrs while his faction mate was speaking to him at 0808hrs! There is a time lapse of 5 hours! We plead that the court regards this evidence as null and void!”

It’s an unorthodox approach, no doubt, but hey, in a day and age like this, unorthodox works. ;)

5. Real Person VS Reel Person

The [GM] team has been getting some appeal cases whereby the gamer admits that he has been using a *‘pilot’ to train his characters and that his*‘pilot’ used certain third party programs without his knowledge to train his characters. Unfortunately, we have to reject such appeals. After all, if your virtual character does the crime, then your virtual character has to do the time. You, as a real person, are cleared of all charges. It’s just your reel character that isn’t.

Since we are on the topic of ‘pilots’, we strongly discourage the community from sharing accounts or letting someone else pilot your account as this might result in scams, hacks or abuse of your account.

1. Colony Maps Monthly Reset

We have heard some feedback from the community requesting for a monthly reset of colony maps. Initially, we had proposed this idea from the start of POBT due to IMC’s (Granado Espada’s game developers) recommendations, however, the idea was not well-received by the community due to lack of experience about what colony wars were about. Considering that we have been through a few months of colony war and that many people have been requesting for this monthly reset to take place, we are opening up a poll to determine the fate of Granado Espada’s Colony Maps.

Here is what will happen if a monthly reset of Colony Maps take place: Once a month, colony maps will be reset to free for all, where everyone has an equal chance of conquering and owning a colony. In subsequent weeks, the factions who own colonies will defend their colonies from other factions who declare war against them. This will continue until the monthly reset kicks in and colonies become free for all once again.

3. More Updates On Bot Busting (B-Square)

The Present…

We have just set up a SWAT team to bust bots on a 24-7 basis (24 hours, 7 days a week). This team has just started work since yesterday and they only have one mission - identify, record and log suspected botters!

Our professional team of Gamemasters will then review and execute these suspected botters accordingly. This flow has in fact started a few weeks ago but with a smaller team then. Now, with the process streamlined, we are all set to go into Gear 2!

This is not all, "Gear 3" will happen really soon, as an even larger overseas team of B-Square, is being formed as we speak. We are currently in the recruitment stage for this project.

Also, we are seriously considering this • that of posting up certain replays of how our B-Square Squad has caught these botters in the act. This way, we thought you guys might have a better understanding of how much time is needed to even identify one. However, this is an idea we are toying with and is subject to community feedback as well as approval of the upper management.

Some gamers have protested their ban, citing witnesses that were speaking to them at the time of their banning or suspension. However, please note that the exact moment of banning may not be equivalent to the time when the gamer was caught botting since we usually mass ban in batches.

The Future…

IMC has implemented a new anti-bot system in Korea GE v2.4 service. The system enables the legit gamers to alert the system about a suspected botter. The system will then monitor the alleged offender for illegal usage patterns and packets - if the offender is suspected to be botting by the system, a "graphic response" image will be shown to the offender and he has to manually key in the letters shown in the image. This will make the botting a highly hard-to-do affair.

The system is currently under-going further testing with the kGE system and will most likely be implemented for our service by the time we enter into v2.4. We are currently targeting the end of December 2007 to launch v2.4 for our game service. So stay tuned for more updates on V2.4 over the next two months!

October's Item of the Month - Hot stuff!

Dear gamers,

by popular demand, the selection from last month's poll on the "Item of the Month" has been confirmed.

The October's "Item of the month" which is found in the retail package "My Bellem's Box" is none other than "20 units of Andre's Costume Box"

To bring to you the item, we will be scheduling a maintenance for the Passport system from 1200hrs ~ 1400hrs on the 1st October 2007 (GMT+8). Right after the maintenance, you can use any of the unused "Item of the Month" code found in the retail package you can buy from any game retail outlets.

Rather than to dispute the claim with reasons and facts, why dun I take this opportunity to inform all of you on the up-coming anti-bot system developed and implemented by IMC.

IMC have implemented a new anti-bot system in Korean GE v2.4 service. The system enable the legit gamers to alert the system about a suspected botter. The system will then monitor the alleged offender for illegal usage patterns and packets (of course, these details will not be shared for obvious reasons ) If the offender is suspected to be botting by the system, a "graphical response" image will be shown to the offender and he has to manually key in the letters shown in the image. This will make the botting an highly hard-to-do affair.

The system is currently under-going further testing with the kGE system and will most likely be implemented for our service by the time we enter into v2.4. We are currently targeting year end to launch v2.4 for our game service. To prevent bots developers from exploiting the system, details on the finalized system for our service will only be released upon implementation.

On another of our anti-botting initiative, we are in the midst of deploying a full-time anti-botting team in a regional country. This team will focus mainly on combating botters. The team is expected to start operation by the mid of October.

We have also been actively banning bot offenders at the count of around 200 per day. Doing so have required the full deployment of our existing game support team. Of course, we are looking at pushing this figures to another high.

Having explained these measures that we are embarking on, we would still like to reiterate on how you can also play a part in making GE a "cleaner" world. We have identified several of these botters as vis and item farmers who have been doing this as a profiteering business. Our advice is that the a very good way to stop them from continuing to abuse the system is to stop the demand from the buyers. Do not buy "vis" or "items" using real money. Doing so will only fuel the economy and prompt them to heighten the supply. (i.e. more botters!)

Lastly, our silence does not mean that we are not taking any action against the botters. It just mean that we are watching them and planning our move. Stay with us. We are also on a look-out for high level players who have apparently been botting too. (Treasure your account and characters, do not bot!)

Thank you for your attention and we hope that we will continue to provide a game service that's healthy and fun.

We have identified cases of exploitations of our game service which have resulted in Vis and In-Game Items being created illegally.

All Vis and In-Game Items in question are considered stolen property and will be removed without question.

We have also monitored and confirmed that several of these acts were committed by RMT (real money trade) game value farmers and we have since removed confirmed offending accounts.

IAHGames would like to issue a SERIOUS WARNING to all GE Gamers NOT TO PURCHASE ANY GAME VIS/ITEMS WITH REAL MONEY.

These measures are highly necessary in order to protect the game economy and quality of game play. We hope that all GE Gamers will support these measures by not supporting any RMT merchants.

IAHGames will not be responsible for any Vis or Items removed from an account if they are found to be obtained illegally. Any Real Monetary Transactions for G Points, Game Time, Game Vis, Game Items, or other Game Services not officially recognized by IAHGames are considered illegal game activities. This news just made my day! It's so hard to find a GVC (Game Value Card) Retailer here in my area and being scared of buying electronic pins from websites scares me so this is just a blessing! lol XD It's amazing that they thought of making this possible I've got only one concern though, I hope IAH Games has this method secured already. New Online Game 'Granado Espada' Offers Multi-Character Experience

Survival in today’s competitive world requires individuals and companies alike find a way to stand out from the crowd. “Different is good” seems to be the key to surviving in the online game world.

New big-budget online games have recently begun open-beta test services and are busy showing off their new features to beat their rivals. “Granado Espada’’ is a role-playing game that stands above the rest.

Set in the medieval era, “Granado Espada’’ takes place on a new continent where colonization has just begun. Gamers start by forming their own clans, which can include a maximum of nine different characters. They are “obtained’’ by completing certain quests.

Like other MMORPG (massively multi-player online role-playing game), “Granado Espada’’ also brings thousands of players together in a virtual world simultaneously where they hunt down and destroy monsters in battlefields or fight against each other to earn money and points, which can be used to buy better arms and equipment.

So the basic concept of “Granado Espada’’ is similar to other new MMORPGs like “Zera: the Imperan Intrigue'' and “Soul of the Ultimate Nation,'’ but it has something other games do not.

But as its title means “distinguished sword’’ in English, the game introduces new features of a multi character control (MCC) system. It allows users to play with a team of up to three characters selected from within their clan instead of being restricted to the traditional one character. There are five types of characters to choose from _ fighters, scouts, wizards, warlocks and musketeers­.

Each character has its own set of skills and strengths. For example, fighters are good for battle, skillful at swords and guns. Musketeers are armed with stronger guns, enabling them to shoot enemies from far-off distances. Wizards can be used to cast spells on enemies and help fighters. When their magic is combined with the magic of a warlock, its effects are amplified. Scouts have the ability to heal wounds and restore health. Various combinations of characters can be strategically combined to fight different monsters.

It is also possible to maintain just one character and concentrate on increasing its level of experience and improving its fighting skills. However, if you form a team with different characters, you can fight more efficiently. These teams can also be combined with the teams of other online gamers to build complex guilds used for more complicated missions.

In a Barracks mode, gamers can organize their teams, and in a “Dress Room,’’ they could also create new characters that look distinctly with fancy clothes and accessories.

The quests are somewhat simple, but they are linked to each other. “Granado Espada’’ is an appealing game for those who enjoy a good storyline.

The graphics of “Granado Espada’’ are as advanced as other online games, but gamers might not find them as impressive as the other two new games on the market.

Still, as with most of the new online games, a new or upgraded computer system is necessary to enjoy the game’s graphics to the fullest.

The developers of “Granado Espada’’ have created a well-organized and helpful Web site where they regularly post updates, advice and general information for gamers. It seems they are well prepared for a smooth commercial launch, which is not confirmed yet as well as its monthly subscription fee.
