What Is Colony War?

You can consider Colony War to be a kind of huge Faction vs. Faction event, which is currently held every Sunday from 8pm to 10pm (GMT+8). The war will also be announced by an in-game notice 30 minutes before the war starts.

Players that gather in Factions are fighting for 21 territories spread over the whole continent for various benefits.

How To Conquer A Colony?

First of all, what is a colony? Colonies are the pillars that are located on most of the maps that are shown on the world map. You can check if the map that you are on has a colony by pressing alt + z and looking for something called The Faction’s Colony Manager. If there is one, then there is also a colony on that map.

A colony looks like this:

These pillars have enormous stats and unless you are very strong, or using "Valkyrie Crushers" (powerful siege machines that can be bought at the shop and will help you to attack the colony), you will not be able to hit them for more than 1 dmg per hit. This means, of course, that huge masses of families are required to take a colony down, and it will take quite some time to get it down.

There is a slight difference between the very first war on a server, and all future ongoing ones.

Free For All

When the colony war starts for the first time on a server, or if the colony war has been reset in a server, all colonies are Free for All. This means that, once the colony war starts, every Faction on the server is able to hit the colonies.

Occupied Territories

If Colony War has already been active on a server, without a reset occuring, then all territories (colonies) would have been occupied by factions from the previous war. To attack a colony belonging to another faction, the leader of the faction that you belong to, has to declare war to the faction that is holding the colony.

To declare war on another Faction, the leader of your Faction has to buy 'A document declaring war'. You can purchase it at the Reception Hall at the north of Cite de Reboldoeux or at the Villa de Libertad located in City Of Auch. It is sold for 200,000 vis.

Once the faction leader has got one of these, he has to do the following: Open the Menu as shown on the picture, and click on 'Declaration of War'.

Your faction leader will then enter the name of the faction that your faction wishes to declare war on. After pressing 'OK', a timer will start to run for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes are over, a message will be shown on the whole server, stating who declared war on who.

Do bear in mind that your 'Document declaring war' will be gone from your inventory now.

After that, all members from the two factions will be in PvP (Player Vs Player) mode all over the continent, except in towns, just as the message states. This means you can PK (Player Kill) all members of the opposing faction as long as they are not in towns.

Please note: All enemy faction members will now have red emblems above them instead of the yellow ones that your own faction members have.

Now you can also attack the colony of the faction you declared war on, though that they will most likely try to keep you from doing that. The faction’s colony that you are attacking will receive a message telling them which of their colonies are under attack, and how many hitpoints (Stamina) the colony has left.

Once the colony’s hitpoints (Stamina) are fully depleted, a notice will be broadcast to the entire server, stating that your faction successfully conquered the colony.

If you wish to end the war with the other faction now, your leader has to open the faction menu by pressing Alt + T and requesting a truce with the other faction.

The opposing faction’s leader has to accept it, otherwise there will be no truce. Should he accept, another notice will be broadcast to the server, stating that these two factions are no longer in a state of war.

Now, What’s In It For Me?

Of course you wouldn’t be doing this for nothing. There are some nice benefits for conquering colonies. The benefits are as stated below:

1. For every territory (colony) you occupy, every member in the faction will receive an additional bonus to their maximum hitpoints. The more territories your faction owns, the higher the bonuses your faction members will receive.

1 colony = 10% bonus

2 colonies = 19% bonus

3 colonies = 27% bonus

4 colonies = 34% bonus

5 colonies = 40% bonus

6 colonies = 45% bonus

7 colonies = 50% bonus

8 colonies = 55% bonus

9 colonies = 60% bonus

10 and above colonies = 65% bonus

2. Aditionally to the max hitpoint bonus, the faction leader will receive a bonus of aditional 5% attack power, and 5 defence for every colony up to a bonus of 50% ATK and 50 Defence.

1 colony = 5% ATK bonus, 5 DEF

2 colonies = 10% ATK bonus, 10 DEF

3 colonies = 15% ATK bonus, 15 DEF

4 colonies = 20% ATK bonus, 20 DEF

5 colonies = 25% ATK bonus, 25 DEF

6 colonies = 30% ATK bonus, 30 DEF

7 colonies = 35% ATK bonus, 35 DEF

8 colonies = 40% ATK bonus, 40 DEF

9 colonies = 45% ATK bonus, 45 DEF

10 and above colonies = 50% ATK bonus, 50 DEF

3. The name of your faction will be shown on the World Map next to every colony you managed to conquer.

4. Once a player enters your factions' territory, a message will state 'Jurisdiction of [FactionName] Faction

5. You are able to warp between your colonies for free by using the faction colony manager

In summary,

- To take a colony, you need a strong faction with as many members as possible.

- Colonys are only once free for all. After that, you have to declare war on the faction that owns it.

- Declaration of War letters cost 200,000 vis and can be bought in Cite De Reboldoeux and City Of Auch.

- Once you declare war, there is PvP between you and the opposing faction members everywhere you go. (Except towns)

- To end a war, the faction leader has to request a truce by using the faction menu (ALT + T)

- Valkyrie Crushers prices range from 200,000 vis to 1,600,000 vis.

- There are many benefits in owning a large number of territories (colonies).

- Last but not least, it’s a lot of fun! :)
